Southern Leadership Conference convenes in Charlotte

Child care workers, parents, and center directors from across the South came together in Charlotte for the Southern Leadership Conference in late October.

Workers got a chance to share why they are in the Fight for $15 and report back on events they’ve participated in. They shared how they’ve been able to move others to action and the importance of getting back to their cities to do even more.

It was a really emotional time, as a lot of the child care workers in the room have been homeless and struggling to make ends meet. Everyone left the conference realizing that they are not alone and that they’ve found hope in the Fight For $15.
