Child care worker joins Sen. Warren and Rep. DeLauro

Child care worker Jannell Lankford spoke at an event at the Capitol alongside Senator Elizabeth Warren, Representative Rosa DeLauro, and other child care advocates at the launch of the Economic Policy Institute Women’s Economic Agenda.

Rep. DeLauro said that “Helping women increase their earnings…benefits the overall economy.” Sen. Warren said how “There is so much that needs to be done” when it comes to women and families.

Jannell Lankford, a child care worker and mother of four children, shared why she’s fighting for $15/hour, union rights, and quality, affordable child care: “People who care for children aren’t paid enough to provide for their own.” Her story captivated the room.
